Beer of the Month Home - Privacy Policy
A beer of the month club is similar to a book of the month club; each month they send you a new beer to try. Gourmet gift clubs are becoming more common, and you've probably known someone with a membership in a chocolate of the month club, an olive oil of the month club, or a coffee of the month club. Beer of the month clubs work exactly the same way.
Beer of the month clubs usually specialize in microbrews and/or regional specialty beers. Beer of the month clubs are a type of gourmet gift clubs, and while it might be the "King of Beers", Budweiser isn't a gourmet beer. Examples of beers you might receive include Red Stripe, Heineken, or Stella Artois. But part of the fun is that you don't know which beers you're going to get to try, so keep in mind that those are just examples. You'll almost definitely be receiving other varieties of beer than the ones I mentioned.
Beer of the month clubs normally offer 3, 6, 9, or 12 month subscriptions. The amount of beer and the cost for joining (or gifting) a beer of the month club membership vary depending on which club you join. Typical amounts include a eight or a dozen bottles of beer each month. Normally you'll receive at least four varieties of beer per shipment. Prices range from $20 to $40 per month, sometimes with discounts based on longer memberships.
You should look for certain features when choosing a beer of the month club. Look at the club's website and see if they have any press mentions and/or testimonials. You should also check to see if they offer a money back guarantee. They should be easy to contact, too. If their website only lists a single means of contacting them, avoid doing business with them. Most reputable online businesses offer at least two methods for contacting them.
One good example of a beer of the month club which meets all of our criteria for doing business with is Beer Every Month, which is a part of the AmazingClubs company, which markets gourmet gift of the month clubs of all kinds. (They offer 32 different products, not just beer.)
Another option is Micro Beer Club. They offer over 600 varieties of beer, and they specialize in small batch beers.
Most beer of the month clubs also offer newsletters which provide beer lovers with information about how to appreciate gourmet beers, suggested beers to try, and other tips and advice for beer lovers. Some of these newsletters are traditional paper newsletters, but some of them are sent via email. Either way, the newsletter is a cool perk to belonging to a beer of the month club.
If you like good beer, then a beer of the month club can be a fun investment. It can also make a classy gift for a corporate contact or a friend who enjoys beer. And the Internet makes researching and choosing a beer of the month club easier than ever. The only type of beer lover who wouldn't enjoy a beer of the month club membership as a gift is a "brand loyalist." You know the type; he claims that he won't drink anything but Budweiser, because, "If it ain't Bud, it ain't beer." His loss.
